You’re a talented designer. You finish an amazing project. You share it on Social Media. But the magazines? The big blogs? Silence.

What if you could cut out the PR middleman—and send editors a pitch they can’t say no to?

Imagine opening up a magazine, a design blog, or even your favorite Instagram design roundup—and there’s your project.

The real reason you are not getting published...

It all starts with one pitch— that speaks editors language.

Because writing a pitch that editors can’t ignore is a skill you can learn.

I’ll show you how.

The Backstory

I’ve spent over a decade photographing interiors for designers who needed more exposure—projects that deserved to be seen beyond Social Media.

But what I saw over and over again was this: Designers didn’t struggle with talent or finished spaces.

They struggled with the pitch.

When I started coaching designers on how to submit their work, most of them said the same thing: “I have no idea what to say.” Or… they said to much 😆.

I watched incredibly strong projects get overlooked—not because they weren’t good enough, but because they weren’t being communicated the way editors expect.

So I did the work myself.

I studied published features. I talked to editors. I learned what actually matters in a pitch—and what immediately gets ignored.

Once I started teaching designers how to lead with a clear story, the right details, and a tight structure, everything changed.

  • Designers started hearing back.

  • Projects started getting picked up.

  • And my own work landed three national features in a single month—no PR firm, no connections.

Now every project I shoot has an editorial strategy baked in, and every designer I coach knows exactly what to say—and what to leave out.

I created "Get Published: How To Write A Pitch" so you don’t have to guess, overshare, or sit in silence wondering why no one replied—when there’s a proven way to pitch that works.

What Others are Saying...

“Working with Jeff has been one of the best investments I’ve made for my business. His eye for styling, calm energy on shoot day, and editorial approach helped my work get featured in my target publications. He makes the process seamless and enjoyable—and the visibility from our shoots has directly led to client growth over the last six years. He genuinely wants the best for his clients and I value his genuine, kind disposition."
Whitney Walker
Principle Designer at Farrington Lane
“I’ve been working with Jeff for six years, and after working with other photographers, I now understand what a difference the right person behind the lens makes. Before Jeff, the photos were fine—but they didn’t capture the soul of my work. Jeff takes the time to understand the intention behind every project and translate that into storytelling imagery. He’s a true pro: collaborative, calm, and easy to work with. From planning to final edits, he makes the process seamless. It always feels like I’m working with a creative partner—not just a photographer.”

“We loved working with Jeff on the photography of residential projects. He approaches his work and photography with a very artistic and creative eye, but is also not only delightful, but also very quick and efficient.”

YES - I Want to Explode my Reach
Jeff Jones, in a black shirt, sits behind a camera on a tripod, with studio lighting equipment nearby, against a light-colored background.

As a photographer deeply rooted in editorial interiors, I’ve seen firsthand what actually gets work published—and it’s rarely about having a PR firm. It’s about the story. When the budget isn’t on your side, clarity, intention, and narrative become your biggest advantage.

Pitch Without PR is built for interior designers and photographers who want real editorial exposure without outsourcing their voice or their budget. It teaches you how to shape your work into a clear, compelling story editors can immediately understand—and say yes to.

The most successful pitches aren’t image dumps. They’re story-driven. They explain why the project matters: the design intent, the decisions behind the space, and the perspective that makes it relevant right now. That’s what editors respond to—and that’s exactly what this framework helps you articulate.

Inside Pitch Without PR, you’ll learn how to confidently pitch your own work, communicate its value, and approach publications with strategy instead of guesswork. You’ll stop wondering what to say, who to contact, or whether your work is “ready.”

Whether you’re pitching for the first time or tired of sending emails that go unanswered, this gives you a clear path forward—without PR, without fluff, and without compromising the integrity of your work.

Because when PR isn’t in the budget, story becomes your superpower.

Let’s pitch your work with intention.
