The Kips Bay Show House 2025: Reflecting on Previous Work and Excited to Do It Again
Shooting Mark D. Sikes’ Kips Bay 2020 project was an unforgettable experience — one that still inspires me today. From the moment I stepped into Casa Fiorentina, I was surrounded by layers of color, texture, and history that told a story in every corner.
The custom Iksel wallpaper, patterned in striking blue and white, set the tone for the space. Antique pieces from John Nelson Antiques, rich Schumacher fabrics, and beautiful trims from Samuel & Sons brought Mark’s vision to life — timeless, vibrant, and full of soul.
What I love most about Kips Bay is the collective creativity. Each designer brings their world to life, and as a photographer, capturing that energy feels like documenting pure design magic.

👉Mark D. Sikes – Kips Bay 2020 ProjectThis year, I’m honored to be photographing two incredible clients for Kips Bay 2025 — an opportunity that feels like both a homecoming and a new adventure. The event’s milestone 50th anniversary will once again take place at 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard, the iconic French Renaissance-style estate nestled between the Rosewood Mansion and the soon-to-open Four Seasons Hotel & Residences. With 25,000 square feet of breathtaking architecture, it’s a space that feels deeply rooted in Dallas design history. The Kips Bay Show House is more than a design exhibition—it is a prestigious fundraising event that partners with the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club to support after-school and enrichment programs for children. Prominent interior designers transform a luxury residential property into a showcase of their creativity, blending artistry, innovation, and philanthropy.
Founded in 1973, the Kips Bay Show House began as a fundraising effort for children’s programs in New York City. Over the years, it has evolved into a major annual event for the interior design community, attracting thousands of visitors and shaping design trends across the country. Each year, a high-end home becomes a canvas for designers to exhibit fine furnishings, art, and the latest innovations in interior design, all while supporting meaningful causes.
The Show House is a unique event that blends a charity fundraiser with an interior design exhibition, transforming high-end homes into showcases of exquisite furnishings, art, and technology, with ticket sales benefiting partner charities, while raising awareness and funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, Dwell with Dignity, and the Crystal Charity Ball.
This year, distinguished designers and architects will reimagine the estate, each bringing bold, imaginative interiors that celebrate the intersection of creativity and compassion. From its origins in New York to its flourishing presence in Dallas, the Kips Bay Show House continues to elevate design excellence while making a lasting impact on communities.
